Grass Starter Concept
Hi guys! It's Mongleur's turn on the spotlight, the new grass starter of my region.
Mongleur takes the mantle of the thief class with the clown/acrobat theme. I knew from the start that I wanted its head to look like a tomato. Decided to at least make it resemble a berry as a red color for the head doesn't look right for a grass starter. Spending most of their early years on top of trees, their balancing skill is honed to its full extent. They are tricksters by nature and will gang up on anything they randomly come across. Battle-wise, their movepool focuses on disabling their opponent and disrupting the flow of their strategy.
Graduation, New Region, Water Starter Concept
Hey guys! Oh wow, my last journal entry was 2 years ago. So I've been busy with work and school during my absence hence the lack of updates (sorry!). But I'm finally graduating next month which means I'll have more time to do art before I take my licensure exam.
I''m in the process of resetting my Perla region which will now be called "Malaya" which means free in Tagalog. The reason I want to create a region with a solid lore as a foundation, something I din't achieve with Perla. I've been playing with the idea of memory and oblivion for Malaya (Pokemon Plus and Minus? Still looking for other options haha). So basically I want every aspect
Expanding the fakedex
Woah. It's been a while since I made a journal eh.
As the title says, I am raising the number of my fakemons from the usual 150-ish to 240(still subject to change) due to the following reasons:
a) It's pretty hard to fit and balance 18 types. This is the also the reason why I haven't had any gym leaders, e4s, trainers, etc. Raising the number would give me enough freedom to conceptualize characters for my region.
b) The current number is isn't enough for me to showcase my country's biodiversity as well as our culture and beliefs. Sure could just make another gen but I just want to have a single but memorable gen.
